As winter is taking its toll on our skin (our summer glow now seems like a distant dream, cue crying), it is time to change up the makeup routine, especially when it comes to the base. Time to infuse back a bit of life into our dull and dry looking complexion! Of course, no need to say that a good skincare routine plays a huge roll, but makeup too can come in handy. So in here I’ve put together my trusted products for natural, healthy, glowing skin.
Bourjois Healthy mix serum foundation : I completely fell in love with this foundation over the course of summer. It was pretty much the only one I would reach for. As I am one to try as much of the new and hyped products, I had let this number fall forgotten as winter rolled in. Time to get it back out! It has a gel formula that just applies so nicely on the skin. I like to use my fingers to blend it in to get a natural finish. What impressed me the most is how it evens out the skin incredibly well without being high coverage. A definite winner for that “I get all the sleep and water I need” look.
Benefit Watt’s Up highlighter : This little wonder was actually one of the first high end makeup item I bought and I’m still head over heels in love with it. I apply quite a lot of it on the high point on my cheeks, blend it in with my middle finger and then take what’s left on the finger on to the bridge of the nose. This will just give you and intense, dewy but still natural glow.
Make Up Forever Second skin cream blush in the shade 220 : Cream blushes is the way to go if you are looking for that hydrated look. Not only will it sit better on the skin, they just look more natural which is what I’m totally after. Using a stippling brush that I lightly tap on the product, I’m just looking to add a light flush on the skin and add a bit of colour to my complexion.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in Dim Light : The last step to the process! Even thought we are after a dewy look, we don’t want to look like a disco ball don’t we. The Ambient Lighting powders are a favourite among beauty bloggers and there’s no wonder why. They are practically an Instagram filter in powder form. They ever so slightly mattify the complexion and add some light to it. This product is definitely a splurge but in my opinion, oh so worth it.
