For me, getting through a product is a pretty good sign it’s a winnaaahhh. With all the products I’ve accumulated over time and the ones I continue to test out, it’s pretty rare for me to finish up a product before having to let it go (little blog post here on product’s shelf live!). These ones, I’ve just been using day in and day out and have finally made it through. Conclusion: I would tots recommend them to you all.
Kate Somerville Nourish daily moisturizer : My skin is definitely one to be on the dryer/dehydrated side of things. Although I try very hard to drink as much water as possible during the day, I have, have, HAVE to use a good moisturizer to give back life to my dull skin. That being said, I really do not like the ones that are too thick. Not ideal at all my friend when you then want to apply makeup. This number from Kate Somerville (not the most affordable I have to admit) worked like a dream on me. It’s very light texture penetrates the skin in a few minutes only and keeps it nicely souple. I became a huge fan of the brand and next on my to try list is their goat milk moisturizing cream.
M.A.C. Prep + Prime Fix+ : Mists are definitely a staple product to have nowadays. Whether it’s luminous, hydrating or fixative, I’m a fan! I particularly love this one from M.A.C. Why that? It literally melts my makeup into my skin, giving it a more natural look! It’s pretty much impossible for your makeup to look caky using it! Got one of my best friend totally hooked on it, you should try it too, I’m telling ya.
Hourglass Ambient lighting powder trio : I have a real obsession with Hourglass powder products and I’m pretty sure it’s not the first time I’ve been rambling about it! Whether it be their blushes, bronzers of finishing powders, they are all so finely milled and leave you with an amazing luminous finish (doesn’t hurt too that the packaging is all gold and shiny and pretty). It’s precisely this palette that got me hooked on the line and as you can tell, I used it up pretty well.
L’Oréal Infallible Makeup Extender setting spray : Yep! Another mist in the mix! I told you I was a fan! L’Oréal were the first, at least in America, to come out with a drugstore alternative of this kind of product you were only able to get from more high end brands. And I have to say, they’ve done well! I use this one right after the M.A.C. Fix+ to keep my makeup in place all day long. A step I never skip in my routine anymore!
Laura Mercier Silk Creme Photo Edition foundation : I bought this foundation when I was on the hunt for a base that would give me quite a natural finish but mostly, that would match my skin (which is quite olive toned, making it hard to find bases at the drugstore that tend to have a pink undertone). I was super impressed with this product that met all of my expectations. Perfect shade (it looks like it was custom made for me), gel like texture and light coverage, everything I wanted.
M.A.C. brush cleanser : This product comes in very handy to the girl that likes changing up blush and eyeshadow shade on a regular basis. It’s not the kind of soap you will use to deep clean you makeup brushes (blog post on good habits to have with your makeup right here!) but to take out of the bulk of pigment. Super practical to have on hand ladies and gents!
