Long time no see! It’s crazy how fast days are passing by and before I knew it, it had been 2 weeks since I had written up a post for you guys. Let’s get back to our makeup chat! I wanted to put together for you ze perfect beginner’s makeup kit. 100% drugstore. 100% affordable. What a fun little game! So let’s start shopping shall we?
You’ll find of course in this makeup grocery list a foundation. *Started from the base and now where here* This first item is one of the priciest items in the bunch, but that is ohhh so worth it in my opinion. It’s the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. I absolutely love its gel like texture which provides a light and luminous coverage. Perfect for someone who doesn’t want a full face of makeup. Second step, the concealer! I always pick up the same one from the drugstore which is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind. Probably one of the most hyped up drugstore product out there. Everybody and their dog seems to be using it!!! We are finishing off our base with the Stay Matte powder from Rimmel, a cult product that rivals with the best on the market. It keeps the shine at bay and the rest of our makeup in place.
Now that we’ve slapped more then enough product on our skin, it’s time to infuse back a bit of dimension and color to the complexion. Starting with blush! I am a big fan of matte blushes like this Rose Powder Blush from Milani. A great selection of shades, cuuuuute design, a VERY generous amount of product and easy to blend out. I’m sure of course you’ll want to add a touch of highlight (who doesn’t?!) and I quite like the one you get in the Pro-Contour palette from the L’Oréal Infallible line. You can of course add a bit of bronzer/contour, but if you want the look to stay natural, I would skip the step!
For eyes, I have two options for you, both as great. To keep it simple and easy to apply, I go for a cream shadow such as the Color Tattoo Creme Gel Eyeshadow from Maybelline in the shade Bad to the bronze (everyone’s favorite when the product came out!). For all of you that are maybe a bit more experimented, full eyeshadow palettes have arrived in drugstores like this La Palette Nude from L’Oréal. It has pretty neutral shades of decent quality. Finishing it off with a bit of mascara, the one I’ve actually been using daily for mooooonnnths is the L’Oréal Volume Million Lashes.
We add the final touch with a bit of color and shine to the lips. A product that follows me everywhere is the L’Oréal The Balm (if you haven’t noticed, this is my favorite brand from the drugstore). We fix everything with their Makeup Extender Setting Spray and there you go! With brushes, I couldn’t recommend to you ENOUGH the ones from the Real Techniques line. They are of superior quality then anything else you will find at the drugstore!
I think we’ve talked through everything guys! I hope this post will be useful for those of you out there that are just starting out with makeup and didn’t know what to grab. You’re welcome!
