I recently read this article on ELLE Canada which I found to be extremely useful. In short, it gives you the one skincare ingredient you should be using based on your age. This comes in very handy as there seems to be more skincare options than ever on the market. You get lost pretty quickly in all of it! I like the idea of going back to the bases and give your skin that one thing it is craving at the moment.
In your twenties like me? If there is good one step you should to incorporate into your routine is exfoliation! A healthy rate of skin cell turnover will give you the radiance and brightness so desired. Aim to exfoliate daily with a chemical exfoliant, i.e. based on alpha or beto hydroxy acid and then occasionally offer your skin a good old physical exfoliation.
Here is my recommendation of products that will give you just that!
Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel : Its formula cleanses and exfoliates gently! Since using it every morning as the first step of my routine, my skin has greatly cleared up. And thanks to its gel formula, the product is pleasant to use on a daily basis.
St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub : A classic! I’ve used this product since my teens when I feel that my skin feels the need to rebel and pimple trying to poke through. This scrub deep cleans pores and helps prevent breakouts before they appear!
Peter Thomas Roth Pumpikin Enzyme Mask : Definitely one of the most talked about mask in the beauty community. I don’t know if it’s just because I finally have it but I feel like I’ve been seeing it literally EVERYWHERE. This mask will exfoliate with pumpkin enzyme, peel with alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), and polish with aluminum oxide. It reveals smoother, younger-looking, radiant, and revitalized skin!
